We're always looking for people to help out in various ways! From volunteering for a one-time event, to serving in a ministry on a regular basis. Choosing an area to serve is a great way to offer our skills and ourselves for the betterment of the church body. Feel free to try different things over time until you find the best fit for you. | First Impressions Greeting If you like to smile and welcome people on Sunday mornings, this job is for you! Sign up to greet at the atrium doors at the 8:30 or 10:15 or do both services if you like. Sign up sheet is in the lobby. Contact: Brad Nettle 330-882-4109 Office Help This important ministry includes various responsibilities to run the main office. You can volunteer for a few hours, or a couple days per week. Can be done on a rotating basis. Contact: Debbie Pratt 330-854-6609 Or Billy Wilson 702 3743446 Grounds Maintenance This service ministry involves helping maintain the property outside the church, such as mowing, trimming the landscaping, etc. Rotating basis. Contact: Dave Auman 330-854-3996 Building Manintenance Help with maintaining the inside of the church building, such as small repairs, painting, etc. Contact: Dave Auman 330-854-3996 Decorating This role is for someone who desires to help our church with seasonal decorating or for special events. Contact: Kris Good 330-858-0680 Communion Prep Help with the preparation of the communion bread and juice which is served on each Sunday. Contact:-Sheryle Gross 330-854-6094 Serving Team We need people to help with serving the Communion trays each Sunday, and to assist with collecting the offering. Contact: Dave Auman 330-854-3996 Church Cleaning Team This vital role helps keep our building looking it's best. Teams of two or more do light cleaning each week. "Spring Cleaning" is done with a larger group of volunteers on an annual basis. Contact: Dave Auman 330-854-3996 Food Service Special Events Food Prep If you enjoy cooking or serving food, this is a role for you! This service involves helping in the kitchen for special events, church fellowship lunches, or at funerals meals, etc. Contact: Sheryl Gross 330-854-6094 | Sunday Morning Coffee Prep We need someone to help prepare and set out coffee pots, creamers, and cups for our Sunday morning guests. Appreciated by many! Contact: Gary Pratt 330-265-8811 Worship/Tech Team Sound Room Team This position is for someone who has experience or is willing to learn to use the sound board during worship services. Contact: Ray Durkee 330-310-3248 Power Point We are looking for help with running the powerpoint presentation at our Sunday services. Experience helpful but can teach someone who is interested and is familiar with using the computer. Contact: Larry Koons 330-904-2013 Musician/Vocals If your gift is playing an instrument or singing, we could use you on our worship team. Worship team members play on a rotating basis. Contact: Mike Gainer 330-697-5321 Youth Kidz Zone We always want interested parents, adults, or teens to help with our K-5th grade youth service on Sundays. Help with signing in children, assisting the worship leaders, etc. Contact: Kris Good 330-882-3633 Kidz Corner Toddler Room We need teens and parents who enjoy being with children ages 2-4 and can help with simple games and bible lessons. Contact: Lisa Herold 330-854-3918 New Baby Ministry We will need people to volunteer to serve once a week during the day to assist parents who will need items from the Baby Ministry room. Also, someone to help oversee the ministry in general. Contact one of the Elders if you are interestedin serving or supporting this new ministry. | Youth Sponsors From time to time we need adult sponsors who love kids to help chaperone at some of our youth events. Sign-up sheets would be in the lobby as needed. Upward Basketball & Cheerleading Highpoint has Upward basketball and cheerleading at our church each year. We need many volunteers to help with coaching and encouraging boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade. We also need concession stand workers, set up and take down help, and signing in of children. This annual program runs from December through March. Contact: Larry Koons 330-904-2013 Ministry Group Leaders Small Group Leaders If your gift is hospitality, you may enjoy serving as a Point Group leader. Training and curriculum is provided. No experience is necessary, just a love for people and a willingness to build relationships with others. Contact: Cindi Nettle 330-417-1284 Miscellaneous Needs Soup Kitchen Every few months we look for volunteers to go to St. Bernard's in Akron to help in the kitchen and serve the needy a meal. An invaluable experience for those wanting to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
